Itinerary

PeakHouse Vermont is going to show you the best parts of a New England ski vacation, both on and off the slopes, with a focus on epic skiing and communal bonding. We’ve planned an itinerary that caters to everyone — whether it’s your first time on the slopes, you’re a tenured expert, or you’re just there for the après. Most importantly, every day is home to social events to ensure you get to know your fellow trip-goers.

  • Dates: January 22-25, 2025 (Thursday to Sunday)

  • Accommodation: Hostel Tevere, which can fit between 15-22 people.

  • Location: 10-minute drive from Sugarbush ski resort.

  • Resort: Sugarbush, VT

Arrive to catered dinner and an in-house bar at Hostel Tevere!

Day 1: Vermont Arrival (Thursday)

  • Arrive: Get to Hostel Tevere between 4-10pm. Transportation from New York or Boston to the accommodation is included.

  • Pasta Dinner Kick-Off: Fresh pasta dinner at restaurant within Hostel Tevere. Happy hour and ice breakers in the common room.

  • Hit the in-house bar (Optional): Did we mention that Hostel Tevere has an in-house bar? Experience some of the best nightlife the Mad River Valley has to offer without even leaving the accommodation. Drinks served at the bar are not included with the trip cost.

    • If you want to enjoy complimentary beer and hard seltzer, come hang out in the hostel’s common area—which is exclusive to PeakHouse Vermont participants.

Sugarbush boasts some of the most unique and challenging slopes Vermont has to offer.

Day 2: Skiing/Riding at Sugarbush (Friday)

  • Catered Breakfast: Start out the day at the hostel with a hearty breakfast. Lunch meat and generous snacks will be available to pack sandwiches for the slopes.

  • Morning of skiing/riding Sugarbush:

    • Beginners: check out the Gate House area for some of Sugarbush’s best gentler terrain, including a cool small freestyle zone.

    • Intermediates: head to the Valley House Quad to avoid the lift lines of Super Bravo. Get some laps in on Sugarbush’s fantastic Gad Peak cruisers.

    • Advanced/Expert: Start the day on the North Lynx Triple, which is home to some nice leg burners that will get you ready for the truly daunting steeps Sugarbush has to offer. If time permits, head to Heaven’s Gate to check out the iconic Paradise and Ripcord trails.

  • Sugarbush Lunch (Optional): Meet up with the crew at the Lincoln Peak base lodge to grab a bite! Either bring your own sandwich from the ski lodge (included with trip cost) or grab some cafeteria food (approximately $15-$25).

  • Afternoon of skiing/riding Sugarbush:

    • Beginners: continue exploring Gate House, and perhaps take a ride up the Super Bravo lift if you feel ready!

    • Intermediates: head up to the Heaven’s Gate lift, which rises to the top of Sugarbush’s Lincoln Peak! Check out the Jester run, which has some of the best views of any Vermont ski trail.

    • Advanced/Expert: This is the moment you’ve been waiting for—a trip to Sugarbush’s legendary Castlerock area. This ungroomed, natural-snow-only area has no easy ways down, and it’s famous for offering what might be the most intense in-bounds terrain in Vermont. NOTE: if it’s a powder day, we will most likely switch the morning and afternoon itineraries around.

  • Après at the chalet: Head back to the chalet to relax and unwind before dinner. Drinks and hors d'oeuvres will be served.

  • Burger dinner: Time to carb and protein load after a cardio-intensive day on the slopes! We’ll have burgers, chicken sandwiches, and vegetarian options

  • Hit the bar (Optional): Go back to the bar for round 2! Or hang out in the hostel’s common area and enjoy complimentary drinks.

Day 3: Skiing/Riding at Mad River Glen (Saturday)

  • Catered Breakfast: Start the day with a hearty breakfast at the hostel. Lunch meat and generous snacks will be available to pack sandwiches for the slopes.

  • Departure from Accommodation: Pack up belongings for departure straight from the resort after skiing.

Morning and Early Afternoon of Skiing/Riding at Mad River Glen

  • For our final day, we’re heading to Mad River Glen, one of the most iconic and legendary ski areas in the Northeast. Famous for its natural snow, challenging terrain, and old-school single chairlift, this mountain is a must-visit for anyone who loves classic New England skiing.

  • Beginners: While Mad River Glen is known for its expert terrain, beginners can enjoy Birdland, a dedicated area with scenic and mellow trails like Easy Way and Lark. These runs are perfect for soaking in the mountain’s charm without getting in over your head.

  • Intermediates: Head up the Sunny Side Double to explore some of the best blue cruisers at Mad River Glen, like Quacky and Cricket. If you're feeling confident, test your skills on Upper Antelope, a long, winding trail that lets you take in the stunning views of the Green Mountains.

  • Advanced/Expert: This is the ultimate playground for advanced skiers. Take the legendary Single Chair to the summit and dive into Paradise, one of the most infamous trails in the East, filled with tight trees, natural features, and mandatory drops. If you’re craving bumps, Catamount Bowl and Fall Line offer thrilling, classic New England skiing.

Bonus Challenge: If you’ve ever wanted to experience a true "Ski It If You Can" moment, Mad River Glen is home to some of the toughest tree runs in the East. If conditions allow, explore Lynx and Beaver, or venture into the Tight Trees off of the Double Chair for a final adrenaline rush before heading home.

You’ll get catered breakfast and dinner throughout the whole trip!

Day 4: Skiing/Riding at Sugarbush (Sunday)

  • Catered Breakfast: Start out the day at the hostel with a hearty breakfast. Lunch meat and generous snacks will be available to pack for the slopes.

  • Departure from accommodation: Pack up belongings for departure to hometowns straight from the resort!

  • Morning and early afternoon of skiing/riding Mount Ellen:

    • Beginners: check out the Green Mountain Express area for the gentler lower-mountain terrain of Mount Ellen.

    • Intermediates: head to the North Ridge Express Quad to check out the best cruisers at Mount Ellen, including Rim Run, Elbow, and Lookin’ Good.

    • Advanced/Expert: head right to the summit! Check out F.I.S., which is the steepest trail at Sugarbush, and Lower F.I.S., which is the longest ski run at the resort.

    • Bonus: if it’s open, ride the Slide Brook Express Quad between the Lincoln Peak and Mount Ellen sides. As the longest chairlift in the world, this ride is a commitment, but it’s about as beautiful as an East Coast lift ride can get!

  • Depart Mount Ellen between 1-4pm - transportation provided back to New York or Boston.

This trip is going to be both epic and reasonably-priced. Don’t miss out.
